About Cherry
Cherry Chiles is a freelance photographer based in West Des Moines, IA, and she joyfully gives all glory to God for every step of her journey. What began as a simple senior portrait session at age 18 became the moment God revealed a deeper calling—using photography to serve, love, and uplift others.
After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Photography from Brooks Institute in 2008, Cherry moved to Los Angeles, where she gained valuable experience assisting on magazine shoots, music videos, and television productions. Even in those fast-paced environments, she can reflect on how God was shaping her skills and preparing her heart for the work she would be doing.
In 2011, God guided Cherry back to the Midwest, where she built her photography career in Iowa City before planting roots in West Des Moines
Today, Cherry views her business not as her own achievement, but as a ministry God has entrusted to her. She is deeply grateful for the way He has blessed her with the ability to capture meaningful experiences, relationships, joy, and the precious time people share with one another. Her greatest desire is that every session reflects God’s goodness—through kindness, excellence, and a genuine love for the people she serves.
To Cherry, photographing someone’s life and milestones is a sacred privilege. With each click of the shutter, she is mindful that it is God who opened the doors, provided the gifts, and continues to guide her steps. Every client, every moment, and every story is an opportunity to honor Him.
